“This is what bikes are made for. This weather, these roads, these landscapes.” So said one of last year’s participants of Mallorca 312, one of the best cycling sportives in the world. With closed roads on the entire route which starts on the east coast of the island and climbs into the Tramuntana mountains this is a bucket list ride on the same level as the Etape du Tour. And registration is open!
Unlike the Etape however, there are three choices of length of ride you can do. For the totally committed you can submit to the full 312km which includes over 5,000m of climbing. Thankfully the organizers have given you the option of a shorter although nonetheless tough 225km route with nearly 4000m of elevation and a more manageable 167km with 2,500m to conquer.
All rides start and finish at the same point on Playa del Muro in the seaside town of Alcudia. The date to put in your diary is April 27th. Head to Mallorca for a bike ride you’ll never forget and a taste of Mediterranean spring.
As well as taking part ourselves, we can offer you accommodation at our house in Caimari, just 30 minutes drive from the start/finish line. We can also include airport transfers and drop off and pick up from the start/finish for you and your bike for an extra cost. We charge £100 pp per night which includes breakfast, dinner and drinks.
All of our rooms are doubles with three of them en-suite. We offer a more personal service than you would get from one of the larger hotels with a sunny terrace, garden and swimming pool. We can give you advice on where to go for some loosening rides before the main event and even drop you off and pick you up from different parts of the island if you so wish.
