Hoy to Cycle Across Antarctica

Sir Chris Hoy announced this week that he is planning to cycle 400 miles across Antarctica to the South Pole. The journey will be 400 miles long and he will have to overcome snow drifts, deep crevasses and a 3,000m mountain range in sub zero temperatures. He aims to beat the current record of 10 days.

He says that he’s looking forward to it because, “I’m going to get more sleep in a tent at the South Pole than with a newborn.” It was his wife who encouraged him to seek out a new challenge.

Hoy has kept himself busy since retirement, driving racing cars at Le Mans, launching a bike range with Evans as well as releasing a series of children’s books. Good luck, Sir Chris!
