ABC at Eroica Britannia 2017

Eroica Britannia have announced two big acts to appear at the award winning vintage cycling festival in Derbyshire this year. Norman Jay MBE, one of the world’s most popular DJs will be hosting a special funk, soul, rare groove, disco and Motown set on Friday, while 80’s pop sensation ABC will be playing on Saturday night.

Martin Fry, lead singer of ABC, is a keen cyclist himself and has ridden various charity rides like London to Brighton for Action Medical Research. He will be taking up the challenge of the ride on Sunday with his family. Norman Jay is also rumoured to be taking to the trails and white roads of the Peak District as well.

It was 35 years ago that ABC’s The Lexicon of Love hit the charts at No.1. It’s hoped that Martin Fry will be suitably attired in his typically flamboyant sartorial style. Described as “the missing link between Bryan Ferry and Jarvis Cocker,” we can’t think of a more suitable act to appear at the pre-1987 bike festival.

Eroica Britannia 2017 will take place in the green and pleasant farmland surrounding Friden Grange in Derbyshire from 16th – 18th June. Tickets available from their website
